The Emergency Medical Center (First Aid Station) Branch serves the following functions:
　　* To plan for developing nationwide emergency systems, and promote collaboration among emergency medical networks of China.
　　* To develop regulations and standards for Chinese urban emergency system management, through adopting current international standards with consideration of Chinese special situations
　　* To influence government agencies in the process of policy making on pre-hospital care
　　* To explore effective means of professional development for emergency care personnel, and raise the overall standards of first aid of China
　　* To research on personnel, transportation, equipment, uniform, regulations and standards of emergency services
　　* To actively foster international exchange and collaboration by building close relationship with foreign/international emergency organizations, and by promoting visiting and training of its organizational and individual members abroad
　　* To organize large-scale symposia on emergency medicine, disaster aid, and information technology on a regular basis
　　* To provide recommendations/advice to the Ministry of Health of China on emergency policies and regulations.
